How to Wear Your Tendai Faja: A Step-by-Step Guide for the Perfect Fit

How to Wear Your Tendai Faja: A Step-by-Step Guide for the Perfect Fit

1. Unhook and Stretch Before Wearing

Before anything else, unhook your faja completely and give it a gentle but thorough stretch with your hands.

Focus especially on the waist, hip, and thigh areas. Stretching helps loosen the garment slightly so it moulds to your body better without compromising the compression.

Important: Always unhook the faja before stretching it. Stretching while it's fastened can damage the hooks or distort the structure-and we definitely don't want that.

2. Wear It in the Morning (Before You Eat)

The best time to wear your faja is first thing in the morning, before you've eaten. Your body is less bloated and more aligned at that time, which gives you a better, smoother fit and makes it easier to fasten the garment.

3. Use an Extender If It's Too Tight at First

If your faja feels too tight the first time, don't panic-and don't force it closed. Use a hook extender to give yourself some breathing room while the garment begins to loosen and mould to your body with wear.

This not only makes it easier to get into, but it also protects the hooks from snapping due to excessive tension.

Tip: After a few wears, once the faja starts relaxing, you can remove the extender and wear it on its own.

4. Align the Inner Thigh Seams

This part is key. Misaligned seams can make the faja feel much tighter and harder to close.

Make sure the inner thigh seams are positioned straight down the inside of each thigh, and that the crotch area is flat and centred.

Proper alignment ensures the compression is distributed correctly-and it makes fastening the faja much easier.

5. Fasten from Bottom to Top

Once the seams are aligned, start fastening your faja from the bottom hooks upward. This helps anchor it at your hips and makes it easier to pull the rest of the garment into place without straining.

6. Take Your Time-Don't Rush

Wearing a faja is a process, not a race. Take your time, especially if you're recovering from surgery. If anything feels painful or overly tight, pause, adjust, or use an extender. Comfort and safety come first.

7. Consistency Is Key

The more consistently you wear your faja, the better it will perform. Over time, it will begin to mold to your body, making it easier to put on and more effective in shaping and supporting your figure.

8. Wash with Care

Hand wash your Tendai faja in cold water with mild detergent and lay it flat to dry. Avoid using a washing machine or dryer. Heat and agitation can damage the elasticity and reduce the life of the garment.

Tendai is designed with real bodies and real recovery in mind. When worn correctly, it becomes a daily ritual that supports your healing, boosts your confidence, and sculpts your silhouette the way it was meant to.
